An Introduction to Shadow, First Installment

Chapter Two

Malcolm took a moment to run his eyes across the man’s face: The weather-ridden cheeks, the scar across the bridge of his nose.  Honestly, the best feature on this guy was his lush, blonde hair.  If it hadn’t been for his actions earlier, Malcolm would have pegged his as just another homeless: just a faceless man among a legion of faceless.

“Who’s we?”  Malcolm asked at last. … Register or log in to access full content

An Introduction to Shadow (Free First Chapter)

Chapter One

Malcolm looked around the impromptu campsite in disgust.  This was no way to live.  He should have been snuggled warm and cozy in that shelter.  Even with the iron bar in the bed nailing its way though his back, it would have been miles better than this.  The cold bit into his bones and the smell of the bum sitting near him was enough to make him want to vomit.… Register or log in to access full content

The Trouble with Bricks

The Trouble with Bricks, Second Installment

Chapter Three – Evil Circus, Part Five

The Trouble with Bricks, first installment

Suzie Phipps and her brother Cleotus are in a world of trouble. Actually, they’re in an alternate-reality, Alice-in-Wonderland-on-steroids world of trouble.

Suzie and Cleotus learn that the only chance to return to their world is to seek the wisdom of the mysterious and enchanted Mr.… Register or log in to access full content

Notes on “Helmets Do Not Expand With Heads”

Installment One of my Brave New World Novel

The genesis of this novella in progress was a short story I wrote a few years back.  I never felt satisfied with it, feeling it needed a longer treatment.  I have already begun work on that treatment.  The opening sequence is below.  To check out the short story and some other tidbits, go here.

Rasputin ground his heel into Smitty’s face.  He felt the cheek bone give way slightly as it rolled underneath his foot and he wondered if he had broken it. … Register or log in to access full content
