Men of Courage

"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.”
1 Corinthians 16:13
For a people that have the Living God dwelling inside of them, sometimes we can be downright cowards. We're too afraid not to sin. We're too afraid to share our faith. We're too afraid to stand up to what's wrong. We're too afraid to stand up for what's right. We're just too afraid and our fear is harming our witness to the world.
We need to be on our guard against our own weaknesses and against false teaching. We need to be on guard against the failing of ourselves and our brothers and sisters. We need to be on guard to ensure that we are keeping one another firmly in the true faith. We need to be on guard against the things that tear us away from our faith.
If we take an offensive attitude toward our weaknesses then we will fall less. If we are proactive and store up a wall of bible against the onrushing torrent of sin, we can and will prevail. But to stand firmly, we have to be courageous. We have to stand up for one another. And, above all else, we must be always on guard.
